Outreach Program

The Outreach Program provides follow-up services to the Centre’s residents for one year following their move-out from the shelter.

Through telephone consultations and drop-in appointments, this program forms links for former residents with educational institutions for their children; ESL for parents and children; sources of income; employment and professional re-qualification processes; legal advice and support and mental health services.

Outreach program was launched to provide seamless support to families as they begin their process of adapting into a local community.

Outreach Services include...

  • Support in completing the myriad forms necessary for settlement in Canada
  • Making appointments and referrals to legal services, healthcare professionals and food, furniture and clothing banks
  • Advocate for clients with complex and special needs such as with landlord/tenant issues or children with special needs in school settings
  • Hosting special events and outings to build networks and friendships
  • Accompaniment to appointments in the community
  • Practical support of baby gifs, donations and food
