What is the Ride for Refuge?

This is Christie’s 10th year participating in the Ride for Refuge, taking place  Saturday September 23, 2023.

RIDE is a fun-for-all-ages fundraiser that helps big-hearted people show their support for the refugee families we serve by bringing important funds where they are needed most. It’s also a great way to introduce your friends, family, neighbours, and coworkers to a cause near to your heart… and have some fun doing it too.

Participants can either:

  • Select the classic 10, 25, or 50 km biking distances,
  • Or select the 5 km walk

How to Get Involved?

With a little under three months until the official Ride for Refuge day, we are hoping you’ll consider showing your support this year in one of the following ways:

  1. Register as a ParticipantJoin an existing team, pick your activity, and get fundraising- we’d be happy to have you as a member of our Christie staff team!
  2. Become a Captain – Team Captains are really the heart and soul of the RIDE. They are caring, compassionate, and hard-working people who make things happen. You know these people. They are people like YOU!
Gather a team of your people (friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, church members, etc.), pick a cool team name, and encourage your teammates as they fundraise. Don’t worry, you’ll get support the whole way, starting with these team captain tips and tricks!
  3. Make a Donation – An easy and straightforward way to be part of RIDE 2022, pick one of the teams supporting Christie and make a donation.

So register today and don’t forget to select Christie Refugee Welcome Centre as the charity you are supporting.
